- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/3 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfingers
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- In a saucepan, whisk egg yolks and sugar until smooth. Add milk and cook over low heat, stirring until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool. Whisk in heavy cream and mascarpone until smooth.
- Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish. Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the mixture, then layer in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat layering.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
Notes
- For best flavor, use high-quality coffee.
- You can substitute the coffee liqueur with additional coffee.
