Tiramisu Recipe: Indulgent Layers of Coffee and Creamy Delight

Tiramisu

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert made of layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a rich creamy mixture.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/3 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk egg yolks and sugar until smooth. Add milk and cook over low heat, stirring until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool. Whisk in heavy cream and mascarpone until smooth.
  3. Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish. Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the mixture, then layer in a dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat layering.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use high-quality coffee.
  • You can substitute the coffee liqueur with additional coffee.
