One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken Rice

A delicious one-pan recipe that combines tender chicken, flavorful honey BBQ sauce, and rice for a complete meal.

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Add chicken to the skillet and sear until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. In a bowl, mix honey, BBQ sauce, and soy sauce.
  5. Remove chicken and set aside. Add rice to the skillet.
  6. Pour chicken broth and the sauce mixture over the rice.
  7. Return chicken on top of the rice.
  8. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce mixture for a few hours before cooking.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or corn for extra nutrition.
