French Onion Chicken Orzo Casserole

A delicious casserole combining the savory flavors of French onion soup with chicken and orzo, all topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add olive oil and the sliced onion. Cook until caramelized.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked orzo, chicken broth, shredded chicken, garlic powder, and caramelized onions.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled turkey bacon.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
