- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 cups chopped apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top, and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Gradually mix in 3 1/2 cups of flour and salt. Knead until smooth.
- Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread caramel sauce, sprinkle cinnamon, and layer apples and pecans.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle remaining caramel sauce on top before serving.
