  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugars until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and buttermilk.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  7. Fill the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool, then fill with vanilla cream.
